Paloma- Painting and Printmaking
The exhibition brings together painting, etching, and botanical prints.
Landscapes, maritime spaces, historical sites, and natural forms enter into dialogue.
These works trace the presence of mark, memory, and time—as layered sediments, fragile remnants, and poetic condensations of nature and cultural history.
Exhibition: Galerie 78, Schillerstraße 78, Bremerhaven
Dates: 12 July – 8 October 2026
Opening: Sunday, 12 July, 4:00 pm
About the exhibition
Paloma brings together works that explore orientation in the broadest sense: sensing, remembering, and finding one’s way again.
They invite viewers to follow the visible and hidden traces carried within landscapes, places, and images.
PALOMA – Painting and Printmaking
In seafaring, the dove was regarded as a sign of closeness, direction, and homecoming. Under the title PALOMA, Andrea Finck presents works in painting and printmaking that speak of landscapes, natural forms, and cultural traces.
Fields of color, layers, and signs traverse the works like quiet lines of navigation. Maritime spaces, historical sites, and archaeological remnants encounter botanical structures and impressions of landscape. In etchings, botanical prints, and paintings, observation, memory, and material condense into richly layered visual worlds.
The starting points are both natural processes and the traces of human history. Coasts and submerged places, ancient reliefs, historic buildings, plant forms, and horizons appear as carriers of time and experience. Past and present, nature and culture enter into a quiet dialogue.
‘In my works, representational and abstract forms merge to build a bridge between visible reality and immaterial worlds. Landscapes are not mere images of nature, but spaces in which memories, sensations and historical fragments come to life.’
